A letter from Open Insurance: We built Open because owners never controlled the data that decides their insurance

Platform

Your insurance, finally working for you.

Open gives owners the insurance record they should have had all along: every policy, COI, SOV, loss run, claim, pricing signal, and coverage answer in one place, enriched with the data carriers actually price.

Open’s ecosystem

One platform.
Every angle on your risk.

Open’s Platform sits beneath six products — Living SOV, System of Record, AI Risk Consultant, Claims Suite, Pricing Intelligence and Insurance Academy — feeding each of them through three stages: extraction reads every document, enrichment fills in the blanks, analysis surfaces the risk.Open’s Platform sits beneath six products — Living SOV, System of Record, AI Risk Consultant, Claims Suite, Pricing Intelligence and Insurance Academy — feeding each of them through three stages: extraction reads every document, enrichment fills in the blanks, analysis surfaces the risk.

The situations you know

Different questions. One missing record.

The answer Open brings

Open fills the risk variables carriers price on, from 30+ data sources

How it works

From messy documents to usable insurance intelligence.

  • 01UploadPolicies, COIs, SOVs, loss runs, claims files, and requirements, in any format
  • 02AI extracts and enrichesKey fields are read from every document, then enriched from 50+ data sources
  • 03Verified by two enginesA second engine cross-checks every field, with a confidence score before it enters your record
  • 04DecideUse the data for pricing, gaps, claims, lender answers, and renewal prep

Dual-engine verification, not blind trust.

Two independent extraction engines read every document and cross-check each other. Each field carries a confidence score, and anything uncertain is flagged for a human before it enters your record.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Open Insurance.

“We re-ran the exact same catastrophe model twice: once with the thin spreadsheet, once with the details filled in. Nothing about the buildings changed. Only the data did, and the modeled loss fell off a cliff.”

  • Most SOVs are a snapshot: built for renewal, accurate for a week, stale by month two. Yours updates as your portfolio changes. Acquire a property and it appears on the schedule. Get a new appraisal or replacement cost estimate and values update. Bind a new policy or endorsement and the coverage reflects it. When you need to go to market, the SOV is already current instead of something you rebuild from scratch.

  • Yes. Export a clean, submission-ready SOV in standard formats, or share portfolio access directly with your broker. Because the underlying data is structured and current, your broker spends less time chasing documents and reconciling spreadsheets, and more time on placement. The data stays yours, and you decide what they see.

  • That’s the normal starting point. Scanned PDFs, inconsistent naming, policies split across email threads and shared drives, decades of accumulated files: send it all. Our AI handles varied formats and quality, extracts what it can, and flags anything low-confidence for review rather than guessing. You don’t need to organize your documents before you start. Organizing them is the point.

  • No. Many teams start with a single asset class, region, or entity, then expand once they see it working. Others load everything upfront for portfolio-wide visibility on day one. Either path works, and you can add properties as you acquire them.

  • You do. Your documents and the data extracted from them remain your property. We never sell your data, and nothing is shared with anyone unless you choose to share it. When you go to market, the data goes with you, through exports and access you control.
